Designed and managed implementation of reporting prototype for data quality history and trending in IDQ 10.1 environment.
Established data architecture practice, modeled existing sources and created member/enrollment and provider logical data models in ER/Studio for a Massachusetts ACO. Screened candidates to assume lead role in the ACO organization. Trained analysts in ER/Studio and data architecture best practices. Participated in screening of implementation partners for data warehouse and master data management in a Talend/SQL Server environment.
Provided design and oversight to 3-person team to implement Informatica Business Glossary and Metadata Manager (v 10) proof of concept in the 4th largest BCBS organization. Project included 4 use cases using both PowerCenter and SQL-based ETL with rule-based lineage. Held daily sessions with internal team leaders to provide education, knowledge transfer and best practices. Team provided design and Informatica configuration documentation.
Designed data and metadata driven integration architecture, providing technical oversight/mentoring to 6-person team implementing a provider master data repository for a health plan and health services organization. Phase 1 moved Vistar data into the repository, providing daily extracts to a third party online provider scheduling application. This project replaced their home-grown SQL Server application and manual data scrubbing and validation process with an automated solution. Informatica PowerCenter and IDQ were used to move, scrub and validate incoming hospital data applying over 400 scrubbing and validation rules reducing throughput from 2-3 weeks to 1-2 days. Over 40 IDQ profiles, scorecards and human tasks were built for data analysis performed by the operations team.
Architect for two data warehouse projects following a metadata-driven ingestion to staging, with subsequent custom ETL to requirements-driven relational data warehouse. This allowed the customer the flexibility to add or remove source data at schema, table or field level while maintaining changed data capture and history/archiving. One project was implemented in Informatica PowerCenter for a large hospital complex with clinical and patient data, and the other in Talend for a large medical provider/health plan management company. Trained and developed a new data modeler to follow industry standard best practices, who progressed to a data architect level of performance by the second project.
Training included Informatica Axon and Enterprise Information Catalog.
